Live Sessions & Session Replays

Randall's monthly live sessions and edited replays with subjects that supplement his online courses

This month's session -Composition, Layout, and Design? What are the similarities and differences? And how is Graphic Design different from Painting Composition?

A presentation on
Composition, Layout, and Design

Each of these terms have specific meanings, yet are often used interchangeably.
First we'll take a look at the meanings of each of these terms, some of the characteristics of the process of creating artwork, and how they might apply to us. We'll find out some perspectives on the similarities and differences in the approach of a commercial graphic designer and a fine art painter.
Then we'll take a look at the "language" of design, and analyze some of the principles of geometry that painters use to create their works of art.

Third Thursdays: Randall Hasson's Live Sessions and Replays

On the third Thursday of each month, 10 months a year, Randall hosts a live class over Zoom. The sessions are topical, informative and inspirational. You can attend a single session of a topic that interests you or purchase replays for one low price. These sessions will offer approximately 10 hours of interactive content over the course of a year, and many of the topics are those that have been suggested by participants.
If you are unable to attend, edited replays (which may also include captions and additional imagery), will be available. The sessions are recorded in studio. Wherever possible they are upgraded to full HD from the lower video and audio quality of Zoom.
PLEASE NOTE: Please allow approximately 48 hours to edit and upload the replays!

To attend the Live Session

If you are enrolled in Live Sessions, you will receive an email a few days before the Third Thursday of the month. To Book Your Spot, simply go to the course page and click on the upcoming Live Session. Once you register, you will receive a reminder before the class begins.

Live Sessions begin at 10 AM PCT / 1 PM ET, and last about an hour.

“I have been studying with Randall Hasson for many years, and I never tire of his classes, whether it be in person, zoom or a video workshop. There is always something new to learn from him. His lessons are short, easy to follow, and are geared towards any level, be it beginner or advanced. I highly recommend any class Randall teaches. You will definitely get your money's worth, and you will look forward to the many hours of pleasurable calligraphic practice.”
